You bring out the Romantic

You bring out the Romantic in me.

The unbearable-but-somehow-funny pun-maker in me.

The patient, pink and white rose-giver in me.

You bring out the Adventurer in me.

The mountain myths and colorful festivals,

The untrodden paths and music in me.

You bring out the Writer in me.

The broad-shouldered warlord with a wolf collared coat

And tanned ironbark bow in me.

The dancing serpent knight with a dented shield and tarnished blade in me.

The man willing to defend you against anything in me.

You bring out what is Vulnerable in me.

The lost and abandoned orphan in me.

The loved and the held,

The unloved and the crestless fallen in me.

When I say you bring out the Romantic in me,

The rose-giver,

The warlord,

The myths and the festivities and the music...

I mean that you bring out the Heart in me.

The man willing to love you until we die,

And even long after that, in me.

Because you bring out what is

Exciting, and passionate, and nervous,

Protective, and vulnerable, and caring,

Heartfelt and in love in me.

You bring out the Husband in me.

Because you bring out everything in me-

Especially the best parts of me.
