16 Years

I can’t see what I don’t know

To busy working fingers to the bone

It’s easier to see what you’re trying to hide

if you know just to look in plain sight,

I shouldn’t feel like your the one who left me

When I walked away, You say I’m your problem

But addictions can change your sane

You’re my black ice, pulling my feet from gravity

I don’t need you, but I need me

not to go back to what I’ve already been through

They said national will turn on one another

we my heart turned against me

We’re all just playing this waiting game,

But I can’t wait for time to catch me

We label thing we don’t understand

we don’t understand ourselves

Making up answers to questions we don’t know

I hope you don’t find out

Plastic ceilings, breaking four walls

trying to remember

Why we’ve done what we’ve done

Walking paths on dead end streets,

One day roads run out

We’ll just follow our feet

I’ve had 16 years of sorrow,

16 years of kiss

16 years of memories

doesn’t take much to carry all of this
