ALL I NEED

All I need is my Bible, my faith in God
pursuing through my blood and enveloping love
From the man who taught me to hate, and stole my love
My teacher, my abuser, stole my heart away.
He once abused me for a whole year, then tried to kidnap me
but did not succeed in other things he wanted. All I need is my Bible, my thick one, encased in a purple cover
Lacking my time at times, for my love may be little
I need my faith in God to survive this day and the next
When my spirits are down, He is my deliverer and healer too.
He delivered me from hate within, transforming even my hairs
And my frowns into someone better and lovelier. All I need is God to be my guide, let my Bible
be my prize, my favorite possession and to be close to God
He is my friend and motivator on the days that I lack too much
And want to hurt myself.
All I need is Him, my Savior and Friend.
