An All-Mexican-American Girl

Her mother always joked, "Mija eres hecha en México pero producida en los Estados Unidos."Darling you were made in Mexico but produced in America. It was a family joke. But not quite a laugh when you learn the truth behind this story.A pregnant mother crossing the border.Drinking from the same source as cows.Hiding her body under bulky clothes.Being pushed by strong currents.Meanwhile a husband in America is unaware of the risk his wife is taking at the moment. Those are the details left behind when a mother recounts her travel to America. The daughter realizes she would not be where she is today if it were not for her mother and America. She thanks her mother for dropping everything to take care of her. She thanks her country for the endless opportunities given to her.America is their home.
