Almond Eyes

If you could only see my eyes

What would you think

Would you look for beauty

Or would you watch me blink

Would I just be a photo

A picture in your head

Or would my eyes be portals

Into a world, instead.

If you could only see my eyes

Through the camera lens,

Could you tell if I felt happy

Or if I’m at wits end

Would you rely, just on my voice

To tell you of my story

Or would you look much deeper

Into my eyes for glory.

If you could only see my eyes

Would you draw and fantasize

Of the girl you want to see

Or would you wait there patiently

To see the rest of me.

If you could only see my eyes

Would you fall in love

With the girl that could be lies

Or would you improvise

Looking for the hints

And mystery below

The bluish greenish glow

Of my eyes.
