Alone

Don't you hate those desperate times
When the rain won't quit and the sun won't shine
The hard work you do, it's always criticized
Not much like the impoverished war crime

And the road alone, it sure looks tempting
The road alone, it sure looks tempting

String a web of lies to catch the truth
Caught in a storm called "I love you"
You find shelter one night at a time
Then fall to your knees when their paths are unaligned

It's not a competition of who's the better victim
Or a rite of passage for abuse of the system
But still, the road alone sure looks tempting
I used to know how, but commitment's unrelenting
