America: Liberty's Pimp

From sea to shining sea,

we made this decree

that we would be

the home for Liberty.

Out of the womb,

we could only presume

that it was our right to bloom.

So as our bones grew we would consume,

and consume,

but from whom?

From the depths of sacrifice,

we built up our price

thinking it would suffice

our fool's paradise.

During our pursuit to bring about the sunlight

in the middle of the night,

we set up to fight

and revealed our overbearing might.

We thought we were right,

but really we're thought of with spite.

Our tears fell, walking down that trail

at the speed of a snail,

waiting for that atomic light to hail

and drive down that coffin's nail.

An orange smog left us to flail,

and we cried out for help, but to no avail.

So we gulped down those cocktails

desperate to believe this was all just a fairytale.

A second chance, we were descendants of Seth,

but we continued to bring about death.

And we stayed high with our crystal meth,

triggering Liberty's fading breath.

We sought out prosperity

and spread democracy,

believing it would end the misery,

but really it may just be hypocrisy.

O say can you see,

what it is to truly be free?
