The American Reality Pt. One

Welcome to America Aland which I’m fromPromises of FreedomAnd yet freedomFailed to comeWe fought through the painAnd miserynow its time to be truly freeand redemption is closerBut the battle is far from Over America, the land of opportunityThe land where your dreams Become a realityAnd yet,45 million American’s Live in poverty And 33 percent are childrenChildren that America fought forTo abandonAmerica was there When these children were bornShe was at the end of the bedStarring at the mother The mother whose back breaksWhose legs ache Ache in painAnd when America see’s the faceShe turns away Walks out the roomLeaving the mother and childAlone, With nothingAnd they have only to blame America, A land We call home Welcome to America Aland which I’m fromPromises of FreedomAnd yet freedomFailed to comeWe fought through the painAnd miserynow its time to be truly freeand redemption is closerBut the battle is far from Over
