And the Rain Falls Down

The fight is over.

I’m sinking like a stone before the tide.

The Heroes have gone

The fight is over

But still the beckoned rhythms of your voice call my name.

And the rain falls down, over my head

Hold onto me

Hold what you own

Hold on to me

I’m done pretending

Free falling to the floor before I die

You still haven’t gone

I’m done pretending

But still the golden kiss of your night calls my name.

I can’t do this again

I’m lower than the dirt beneath grass.

The Angels have flown

The fight is over

But still the rolling thrills of your love call my name
