Autumn

Location

I wonder sometimes
If it pleased you
To tear from me
The shimmering viscera
Of my July-bright heart

Did it stain your hand
In Technicolor
The likes of which
Never fades
Or did you wash me away

Did the breeze
Of my butterfly kisses
Drift away with the fallen leaves
Or do the ghosts remain
Tainting your skin

Did the loss of my arms
Leave you lonely in turn
Or has it been to you
As the removal of a vice
Allowing you to finally breathe

I wonder sometimes
If you loved me then
As I love you even now
But I think it must not have been so
