Back To Reality
Summer vacation has come to an end much too quickly; thinking about the days going to the beach
my feet caressing in the sand, enjoying the sun ray, friends all around; now it's out of my reach
Here I am driving to school, starting my senior year of high school; back to reality has begun
of course my schedule was all screwed up; took them a week for them to straighten out; so I hung
Time to focus once again on my education with much additional work to add to the pile of fun
filling out college applications and applying for scholarships; oh how I rather be soaking up the sun
Too much homework; being responsible for my future getting overwhemed to say the least
staying organized, community service, playing soccer, taking AP classes has increased
Who thought being a senior would comes so rapidly; I just want to go back a few more years
enjoying the freedom I had; not having to deal with other stuff brings me to tears
Education is very important I won't take that away, dedication and determination is the key
trying to prepare for college and setting my goals; seems to cost me all of those fees
Hoping to win some scholarships to help me financially while earning my college degree
my head is spinning going around and around missing those days when things were carefree
Getting up early to start each new day; hoping somewhere somehow it will get easier
it seems like the same thing day after day; why oh why does it feel like a teaser
More school work, more homework and no time to spare with the applications galore
take out those books read a chapter; answer the questions to me what a bore
The value of education will be worth it in the end; have different opportunities in which to choose
my goals will be accomplished; earning my degree time to celebrate; take out the booze
