Bang! Bang!

Tragedies are an interesting concept.
You can spend hours doing the aftermath,
how did we end up on this path?
A town, full of smiles and laughter. A beautiful image to capture.
Twenty young minds ready to learn.
What the day would bring wasn't their concern.
Six teachers ready to nurture,
what could've been tomorrows future.
Bang! Bang!
The shots struck their ears with such dismay,
a noise they probably hadn't heard until that day.
Their hearts racing, feet were pacing.
Death so near, yet not a fear.
Bang! Bang!
Shots were fired, young souls were taken, the country awakened.
One after another.
Bang! Bang!
As they took their last breath, devoured by death.
A mother's heart broke, A father let out a cry,
only question on their mind,"Why?."
Young lives destroyed before they had the chance to grow,
what future they held, no one will ever know.
Their spirits run the skies, as that mother looks up to see that's where her angel lies. They're watching from above, receiving our love.
As we remember them today, we hope there won't be another incident such as this one, where a school has to hear the shots of a gun.
Bang! Bang!
