Battleship

A slash whipped a chain broken, tears trembling as the sun peaks to its early dawns.

Every soul is twisted as the sea but as corrupted as the one who lives underneath as

a child who knew life as only to what’s given to her and accepted to what she owned.

Boiling gates, and fire pit water were just fond memories but being loved was just a dream

A dream that she and I could not see.

Battleship, battleship we all going down, we feared but never fought so we couldn’t make a sound.

Ashes to ashes that’s what the wind blew of who we hadn’t knew,

was it mother or was it father we could not see.

It was gloomy, but mostly somber was just an epiphany

Of a family that ‘ought to be never tried to be.

A father that could’ve been but should’ve been,

and a mother who was a provider and all what we could be.

Her thoughts were never recognized and her dreams were never promoted but through it all she was still devoted.

Battleship, battleship is just a place we all once cried.

Battleship, battleship is just a place we all use to lie.

Being eye to eye with the one who hurt you boils though your veins like the one you scolded you

but nothing is worse than seeking fear from the person who loved you.

Battleship, battleship is what I once cried.

Battleship, battleship is the place I use to lie.
