Because I Love You

Because I love you, I give myself;

I'll tell my secrets and my fears,

I'll share regrets that no one hears.

Because I love you, I'm here to stay;

I'll stand by you forevermore,

I'll be here for whatever wars.

Because I love you, I hope it shows;

I'll shout it out, I'll scream it loud,

I'll tell the world I dream it now.

Because I love you, I hold you close;

I'll laugh with you, I'll cry with you,

I'll dance with you, I'll die with you.

All of these things I say are true

Because I'm deeply in love with you.

The first line of each stanza is giving one of the most important things in

a relationship. The the first says "I give myself", which is the first step in any

healthy relationship, to give yourself to your partner, to trust in each other.

The second says "I'm here to stay" meaning commitment is

crucial for any relationship to survive. The third says "I hope it shows", and this

means that you need to let other people in on your relationship. There have to be

people who support you—friends, family, and coworkers—other than your partner

to foster a healthy relationship. And the fourth stanza says "I hold you close", simply

stating that you really need to love your partner and cherish the moments you have

with them. The following verses after every beginning line describe some of the

things that define what the beginning lines say is important.
