Because We Can

Thu, 01/05/2017 - 10:22 -- dvandse

My father once asked me

Druhi, who do you want to be?

I said Dad, I want to be the change

He said, that’s just a bit strange

But who’s to say we can’t?

We’ll clean out the amazon jungle

Which the government had decided to bungle

We’ll blow away ISIS

Before they cause another crisis

We’ll save the tiger population

Before there’s another corporation

We’ll help the middle east riot

Before their governments make them quiet

We’ll make sure there is no more oil spilled

And no more animals killed

We’ll wipe the oceans clean

Until no more garbage is seen

We’ll fix the climate of the arctic

And don’t tell me that I’m being dramatic

We’ll make sure everyone has rights

We’ll make sure no more rapists go free

We’ll make sure no one feels bad about their image

We’ll make sure no more innocent men are shot by cops

We’ll make sure no more cops are shot by not so innocent men

We’ll make sure there’s no more littering in China

No more beggars in India

No more war in the Middle East

No more corrupt governments in South America

No more disease in Africa

No more unemployment in America

No more climate change in the Arctic

No more sadness

No more anger

No more hatred

We’ll do it

We’ll be the change

Because we can
