Being who I am made me the person that is here today

Not really listening to negativity that tried to stand in my way

I've been through many obstacles that didn't bring me down

Most people in this world would've loved to see me frown

When I was a little girl I was very independent

Never seeking help from any super intendent

I've always held my head high never low

Being me is what helped my soul glow
