Black and White Specks

I am lost in a sea of white,
I am just a black speck.
All the hatred surrounds me,
Making this my biggest regret.
I can never be smart enough,
Or have the prettiest skin.
I may act like I’m okay,
You don’t know how deep your words dig in.
You taunt me and tease me,
Hit me until I bleed.
I am helpless,
And still you won’t let me be.
Then you others just stand there and stare,
You don’t speak up or jump in.
You look as if you don’t care.
What if the tables were turned,
And no one helped you.
You would be the one helpless,
Not knowing what to do.
It will be a sea of black,
And you’d be just the white speck.
