Black History Month

I’m white, Caucasian,

Dutch, Norwegian.

I have no month

To celebrate this background,

But I have had 18 years

To learn about my people

My people—

Who are not just white

But infinite shades across the rainbow

Who have diverse religions

Unique political stances

Countless stories

My people—

My people are not white,

At least not only white.

I celebrate black history month too.
