Black or White?

Black or white?
Was the question
The most important
That kept the people guessing
What made us different
The color of our skin
The fact that we are human
Or that we don't blend in
Black or white?
Men are created equal
There is still a barrier
The white men hold the power
Blacks don't know what's scarier
Black or white?
Who can vote
The people must decide
Blacks don't have that right
The Constitution lied
Our brothers and sisters
Who have joined us in the fight
Have brought us closer to freedom
And make the system right
We now have the rights
That blacks and whites do
Men are now created equal
And the Constitution is true
