Blinded by Unstoppable Tears
I see the cormorant soaring far above
with wings of obsidian
swimming through the crisp air.
The bird’s enthralling eyes
with hues of emerald green
meet an undulating Salmon.
He gracefully plunges into the cyan- blue water
and swallows it whole.
Plastic fills the cormorant’s stomach.
He suffocates on human waste
and dies young.
Alone.
I could only imagine how the cormorant felt
during its last moments.
It must have hurt to breathe,
as if all the oxygen he had
was molding into monstrous boulders.
Crushing his body.
His will.
His soul.
