Canis Lupus
I swear I saw that beast,
I never told a lie.
The sheep he wished to feast,
That, you can’t deny.
I stood still,
While he stared at me.
I felt ill
And doubted my reality.
My scream broke free,
It was quite loud.
My neighbors rushed to see,
And formed a giant crowd.
“LOOK THERE!” I shouted,
But he had left.
My neighbors doubted,
Leaving me bereft.
The wolf returned once more,
And though I did yelp and wail,
My screams did they ignore.
My sheep he did inhale.
Now I’m the town liar,
A bad example for the youth.
I should be called the town crier,
Because I told the truth.
