Civil Rights Activist

Martin Luther King Jr was a fighter
He fought for love
Not only love for himself
But love for others
Not only love for his family
But for the family of others
This man deserves to be free
This kind of man deserves and serves God
This kind of man was a hero
That brought some attention
To the unjust laws of humankind
This man's love for equality translated through his speech, his words
And I had a dream that my love for education as a young black woman would be that no matter what price
I will work hard to attend the college I want to go to
With my hard work and my dedication
So I write this poem for not only me
But for all my brothers and sisters
That our dreams may look alike
