Civil Rights Movement

I am often asked why i do it, why
I sit in everyday, when those cops throw us away
why i sit in jail, when no one ever posts bail
How can I be free, when I am down on one knee
How i'm not white, but yet know what is right
But i i say how i often wonder, is this a lost cause
Then i remember, i am only one member
Together we will succeed, yes in deed
We do not fight, we only stand up for whats right
With God on our side, all must abide
I dream of a day of true freedom, one where color does not matter
I dream of a day where a man is judged on character and actions
I dream of a day in which all men are free.
This is why i'm here.
