Dear Grandma and Grandpa

Dear Grandma And Grandpa,

It's me. The girl you used to know.

Is that pain or disgust on your face?

Or do I really want to know?

I guess you believed all of the lies.

I guess that's why you never write.

But you cannot tell me you forgot.

Well, you can. But I don't believe,

You forgot about us, forgot me.

Forgot about books you got me.

A million stacks beside the bed.

How you tickled me with your beard.

I pray you didn't really forget.

Am I a song stuck in your head?

Reminding you of early mornings,

Teacups, peaches and hummingbirds?

Do you ever see me by the pool,

Think of me during Jeopardy?

You can pretend I did not exist,

And take my picture off the fridge.

Forget the girl from Christmases passed.

Justify it; you can't stand her.

All I ask is just one little thing;

Send regards to the stuffed panda.
