Dear John

Location

Dear John,

I wish I got to talk to you before you hopped in the car that night

Just to catch up, hear about your sights

We always knew that you had the vision

A nineteen year old soldier, on a high speed mission

It was Vance High School prom night, 2013

You were home from the army, with many experiences to bring

On the night before Mothers Day, you were out having a ball

Little did I know, I would recieve a phone call

" It's John man....he's dead man", is all that I heard

Never would I expect to hear those fatal words

My big homie John was drinking and driving

And all I am doing, is sitting here crying

I'll never forget my friend John Ed Dixon

Maybe one day, we all will listen

Rest Easy Brother.
