Flower, how sweet the smell after a summer shower,
Weaving with the wind in the light of day
Please, do not shed your petals for another.

Do not fear loss, do not cower,
Soon ends the showers of May.
Flower, how sweet the smell after a summer shower.

Aging is an inevitable tower,
The flowers may bloom for another day
Please, do not shed your petals for another hour.

We grow up sweet, but end up sour
With puzzling thoughts, we ponder as we lay.
Flower, how sweet the smell after a summer shower.

Do not weep for the petals that the Earth will devour
Do not weep for friends, for their eyes will betray.
Please do not shed your petals for another hour.

And so through the fields we may scour,
For the life of a petal falls in no identical way
Flower, how sweet the smell after a summer shower
Please, do not shed your petals for another hour.
