Did I truly Grow?

Thu, 01/05/2017 - 19:23 -- Eurekub

Did I truly grow?

As years of my life flow

And people come and go

I understand more and more

about the person I was before.

But did I truly grow?

My mind evolves to comprhend

words and phrases at every bend.

I make new friends and I'm set aglow,

and then, sometimes, I let them go.

But did I truly grow?

Mother lends a helping hand

to make me truly unserstand

that I am truly on my own

into my new life I feel I've been thrown.

But did I truly grow?

The next chapter in my life awaits

for me to step into the gates.

But to step out of my comfort zone

and into the world of the unknown?

But did I truly grow?

I look back on my younger days

and all my mistakes fade into a haze

But I still remember the life lessons

and imagine the future successes.

But did I truly grow?

I take the leap, the chance, and stand tall

in hopes that I won't fall.

But I know that if I might

My experiences give me wings so that I may take flight.

I think I truly have grown.
