Don't Stand

If I sit here, will you stand up? Why can't we be friends? We're the same, so man up.
My skin is brown, your hair is silky, why do you treat me like I am different? As if I'm filthy.
I don't feel accepted by you, or your peers. So I bring some of mine to show you change is near.
You may not like the sight but I believe in the fight for my rights.
Feel the rage, in the midst of night. Come sit with me and bring change to light.
Your friends say move, but we all just stay, if you sit with us, this can be over today.
So, If I sit here will you stand up? We can be friends, we're the same, so man up.
