Down the Road of Darkness

I wanted you to fill my heart

With something that would never break apart

You plagued my mind by day and night

With your sweet sense of humor and bright glow of light

Contrasting my darkness, destruction and rage

That destroyed and assaulted my mind with age

In my heart there was a place for you

With love and affection that had been so true

But now it's gone, gone forever this time

Along with the attempt to make you mine

Down my road of darkness I will go

On a journey. To where? I do not know

Down the road of sadness and despair

In the darkness I learn to love myself there

While you remain at the end of the light,

I will venture out of sight.

On the road of darkness is where I explore,

Down the road of darkness I shall see you no more.
