The Dream I Can't Ignore

With desire to fulfill the Dream I can't ignore

Memorial Hall* grandly greets me with open arms.

I inspect hanging mirrors where windows once were

and long lasting structures, purposely fashioned.

The emotion of the space consumes me, hearing

songs sung, songs played, and songs forgotten.

Under every brick lies another song,

longing to be heard again,

finds its way through my lips.

Eyes closed, filling my head

with images of songs hidden

that were once heard, once beautiful.

The vibrations speak to me as I dream.

The beautiful dream I can't ignore.

My hands glide over pearl keys and brass curves,

pouring my dreams of beauty into a wind of passionate breath.**

I can only hope my sound is as melodious as the walls that surrounds me.

Heart filled with song and a dream I can't ignore.

Longing to stand upon that lonely stage

Full of confidence, full of passion

To stir a heart unwanting, unexpecting.

A concept of a future near,

wrapped delicately around my hands.

A thought able to slip away quicker than I can grasp.

Yet still letting my singing heart soar,

I fearfully wait that future unknown.

But it is a dream I cannot ignore.
