Education

Tue, 02/21/2017 - 21:36 -- colton

When I read this prompt one word hit me, education

when you asked for what problems we have as a nation,

the answer needed no explanation.

When you look at what kills a tree you start with the roots,

however we blame problems on the surface instead of looking at the heart,

kids wake up and sit at a desk while their creative fire turns to soot,

then they're told that they'll never be smart.

The solution doesn't start with pointing fingers,

rather it starts with a decision,

a choice that lets creativity grow and linger,

The kind that sparks a vision.
