Election Day

Tue, 12/20/2016 - 02:05 -- aliahb

I can hear the shrieks of my ancestors

Loud and clear

Oh how they weep for us

"Will there ever be justice?" they cry

"Will we ever be free?"

This is not what they fought and died for

They died for TRUE equal representation

They died for the so called liberty and justice for all.

Do you see liberty? Justice? Freedom?

Or do you see

Jail bars and orange jumpsuits

Immigration buses and "Go Home" signs

Your mother father sister brother, gunned down.

Drugs and alchol destroying the lives and families of many.

The truth is, many of us can relate.

So why then, do we continue to sit and wait?

And listen to lies and broken promises

Decade after decade.

The revolution WILL be televised.

It starts here. And it must start now.

Freedom comes with a price

So the question is,

Are you willing to pay?
