Emmett Till (1941-1955)

Location

30144
United States
34° 1' 24.9276" N, 84° 35' 44.0628" W

As the body rose up-
From scrutiny, prejudice and hate
Marred from Invisible Evil;
The fist of equality shot up in spate
Among Every race

Thousands flocked to see
What nobody thought could be- A Death
So young, so abrupt
A shock, to you and me

Later posing the question…
Do we dare disturb the universe?
At first only a blurb
Spurring a greater movement
Transposed the fabric of American creed
