Equality

I'll give my blood
to keep your stripes red.
You can keep your white,
and I can keep my freedom.

The chains of oppression
are the only that "grow" strong
here in America.
"War" might not be happening on these shores,
but we are still fighting.

Everyday is a battle.
It is 2013
but there is not equality.

How can there be equality?
When you judge your brothers and sisters;
by not only the color of their skin
but who they love?
And how they love?
And where they show love?

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, color, sex, age, veteran status, or
disability.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness-- what about love?
