falsity of freedom

As the silence becomes the forest a waterfall flows upward

Up up up to the sky

You reach and reach for the heavens hoping for a hand to latch onto yours

But the only thing that grabs is the hand of absences

The absence of love of parents of want

The absence of need of feel of hope

The ice cold creeps into your skin and you break the grasp on misery

The waterfall flows normally and you fall with it

Long arms wrap your restless figure in and tells you everything will be alright

But you know nothing will ever be the same

For you have felt the grasp of the devil

And suddenly these hands on your back feel far too familiar

That smile is too crooked too cold too empty

Run

Run as far as your feet will take you

Run until the world fades behind you

Run until that breath no longer makes the hair on the back of your neck stand

Once you're free tell me if it taste like candy or just the bars i'm being held behind

Tell me if it taste like dreams coming true or the blood of those sacrificed for the title

Tell me is it everything you hoped for and more or just propaganda

I wonder now if the hands of the devil were really made of ice or if they were just reflections of my soul

Was he really evil or just an accumulation of every sin i've ever made

I'm now questioning if he ever held me captive or was he just protecting me from falsity of freedom
