Familiarity

Location

I'm familiar with the pain that comes from smiling for too long;

The repetitive aches have made my facial muscles strong.

I'm familiar with the pain that comes from crying for so long;

The aches in my heart sing a sad song.

I'm familiar with feelings of fortune and fame;

I love that people know my name.

I'm familiar with feelings of doubt and shame;

My actions are wrong and I'm to blame.

I'm familiar with confidence and too much conceit;

I'm on top of the world and cant be beat.

I'm familiar with extreme failure and defeat;

The feelings are anything but utterly discrete.

I am unfamiliar with who I am

A confused, lost lamb.
