Fear

Look how i fear that in my course i might fail

Or by any man forced to sit on my own tail.

Look how i fear that the rain might never come

Or that in fight i might lose to another kingdom.

Look how i feel like my heart is vulnerable

As though with a strike i might be miserable.

Look how insecure even my thoughts are

My heart still has that one terrific scar.

Look how drawn you are to reading my plight

How safe you feel discovering my fear’s insight.

Look how envious i am that i can’t be like you

Trampling on others like man does to early due.

Look what i just caught you at this time doing

Feeding on my plight like you’ve been starving.

Look now i see your fear like a fading shadow

Now i see why you’ve been acting shallow.

Look what insecurity has done to everyone

See everyone has their fear garments on.

Look as we feel the of need iron bars to guard us

All because of fears of which we can’t tell the source.

Man was never meant to survive this way

Because our price paid at the “skull” has a say.

Look all we need to do is “to look and live”

And above all never fail to in God believe.
