The few, the proud … the black
And they said black couldn’t be in the military
Because we’re only equivalent to monkeys
Buffalo, Tuskegee
All full of men that love their abusive step motherland
Black bastards stripped from their heritage and stolen from their birth mother
Yet still true patriots of the red, white, and blue
Fighting with our sight red until her enemy is dead
To fulfill her need and earn her love
So we could be treated as brother by the sons of our new mother
We run back to the unopened arms of the unloving many
We return as Negros nothing more but maybe less
To unfair ways and civil unrest
To unfair jobs, and to unburied black soldiers
Wanting to make a change but unable to vote
We caught the heart of honest Abe
His union freed us and finally our mother accepts us as her children
Though her love was still never fully true
Like children we caught her attention in different ways
We acted out radically, destroyed, and Malcolm X’ed whatever was in our way
We fought the fight of faith for freedom
We ultimately just reasoned, we prayed thanks to MLK
Until we were no longer social slaves
Now we fight for those same rights for every one of our brothers and sister so everyone will be free
Welcome to the free world; the United States of America and growing
We fought and won a nation but now it’s time for a free world of peace
