Finding My Own Light

Like a wave crashing on the shoreIt came in increments, swallowing me whole.I tried to lift myself up, again, and again,And again,Yet the waves kept pushing me down.Help, I called, save me, save me, save...I was growing faint and weary,Delusional in a sense.  Where was the Sun?Where did it go?Had the Sun ever even existed? My eyelids slowly shutting,It will go away...It will go away...Coldness, all I feel is coldness,It grips onto me, never letting me go.Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub…What is that?Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub…Where is that coming from?My hand placed itself on my chest,It was faint, but it was there. The slow and constant beat,And the warmth that came with it.I… am… alive…I AM ALIVE!The warmth spread throughout me,Breaking the gripping cold.My eyelids slowly openedAnd there was the sun beaming bright! It had been there all along,It had been inside me this whole time.
