Sunrise and sunset

another day another dollar

another week and another wreck

life is a mess

but I wouldn't want it any other way

 

friends come and go

but family lasts forever

the issue is definition

my family is at college with me

they care for me and love me

we watch out for each other

stumbling across campus laughing

 

smiles fly and laughter sings

they chase away my fears

they wipe away my tears

life goes on

I am not alone

I don't have to be

 

not anymore

 

I am thankful for those who saved me

who watched me crumble

picking up the pieces

talked me down

walked me around the bend

 

they may not realize what they did

but this year

they saved a life

I will be forever grateful
