Gain Some Life

I want what is hard to reach

What will take my life to gain, some.

I settle sometimes for the less

Only to be left with filth in my mouth.

I need what is at most times unattainable

If I don't try

I busy myself with earthly works

With what I use to toil under the sun

I look at it with blank hands

And turn them over

I wash away the work

And open up for the Son

I want what is hard to reach

So I burn the papers

Leave the duty

And walk away to what will take my life to gain, some.
