Genocide

The cries of the people, the slash of the machete

How could we ignore?

The millions of bodies that lined the roads, the celebrations of the killers

How can we forget?

The face of an orphaned child, the empitness of an abandoned house

What does "never again" really mean?

To the Rwandans killed, and to the other victims around our globe, to them it means nothing

It means ignorance, it means abandonment, it means endless slaughter

What will we do to change the world?

Until we learn, it will all stay the same
