Gracious

What am I thankful for?

An interesting question that you ask.

It should be a very simple task.

And yet here I am with anything but a response,

I'm just sitting here, tangled up in my thoughts.

My family I suppose, is a good place to start,

And the roof over my head isn't a house, but my heart.

The food I'm supplied with is much of need,

My appetite alone seems like 10,000 to feed!

The person I love most, my joy, my life,

The one with the ring that will make me his wife.

The future I have and my education at home,

With my siblings learning with me, I'm never alone.

For my large Italian family which never ceases to tease,

I feel so at home that I blend in with ease.

For these things I am thankful for,

I listed only a few, but there are a great many more.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
