Grass

Location

They've enjoyed our waiting

They've indulged in lies

They've prolonged discussions

They've listened to our cries

I've lurked in the shadows too long

Deprived of an education because of a card, I have none

Now I'm on the run

Crush it with petty lies

Abhorent words, which we all despise

"Immigrant", "Alien" they say

I turn to see the next day

I want to be unafraid

I want to walk the streets I've known for so long day to day

Green card? I have none.
