Hanging On By A Thread

Location

I've seen you with such joy.

I've seen you when you're excited.

Now, all I can look to

Are the memories of you.

I'm all alone.

You've always said

That I'm a man's best friend.

You've always said you wouldn't be gone long.

But the hour glass has been turned many a time.

I'm all alone.

It's been ten years.

Though it feels like an eternity.

Maybe you have encountered an animated Polyphemus,

a beastly Lestrygonian, or even a mysterious Nohbdy. But,

I'm all alone.

Ten more years have gone by.

I've been hanging on by a thread.

All I need is to see you once more.

Then I can let go.

I'm all alone from now on.
