It was to stand, Hansel and Gretels family was poor

Their children consistently cost them more

but rather than sent them alone in the woods

they left in search to forage some goods

but low Gretel and Hansel thought to be captured

whos body eaten and raptured

the witch was blind and the house of candy

the kids took the lot for food and witch was no dandy

she try as she might, to stay and fight

but in the oven the kids stuck her tight

rather than kid flambé 

it was a witch soufflé!
