Healing Earth's Wounds One Plant at a Time

With each passing day greenhouse gases will rise,

Smog-filled air and runoff leading to Earth’s demise,

In humanity’s need for development,

We are hindering ecological improvement.

Nature’s destruction and unhealthy state,

A landscape architect can alleviate,

A field blending environmental science and art,

Combining plants and design with planning that’s smart.

I’ll work to build systems that help deter drought,

Harness clean water for plants and the animals about,

Installing rain gardens to anchor nutrients and soil,

For our bountiful earth I’ll learn much and toil,

I imagine clean skies and waters azure,

Gardens and parks aid the mind and bring pleasure,

Restoring Earth’s health is a passion of mine,

It’s my life’s dream to maintain nature’s beauty sublime.

I’ll diminish pollution in soil, water, and air,

Saving Earth and its biomes from the current despair,

As an architect of the land where we all reside,

I’ll be a fierce warrior to help turn the tide.
