Tears begin in her dead green eyes

which fall and shatter like glass.

Her heart had frozen long ago.

On her face,

She wears a mask.

To them She smiles; I see Her frown.

I hear Her tortured screams.

As She collapses to the ground

She weeps there on Her knees.

But their eyes glaze over Her burning pain.

They cannot see her soul.

They only see the happy girl

they knew so long ago.

That girl grew up with desolate dreams.

Hope gone for here and now.

From their abuse She's suffered through,

She screams in pain and howls.

"Just a child! You do not know!"

She's heard it all Her life.

They yell at her to "just behave!"

She can do nothing right.

A razor,

a lighter,

a cigarette.

To none of these She turns.

She keeps her feelings locked away,

her heart she turns to stone.

The scars, inside.

Her wrists are clean.

Half mad from scorching blows.

Someone else has heard Her cries,

they take Her from the rope.

Love, oh Love.

In Her darkest hour sees

what She has gone through.

So now they sit and weep together.

She does not walk alone.

The ice is melted.

Her taers have stopped.

Her feelings, She sets free.

All because of just one Girl,

whose love is what She needs.
