Home Alone

I’m wrapped up tight within my sheets

Behind my curtains blows a gust

Up and down the lonely streets

Calm my heart, this I must

As the shadows find me still

In gentle dreams can I trust?

With thoughts of sleep my head does fill

A knock sounds at my room

My feet now roused by sheer will

My kin are home, this I presume

And I emerge out of the gloom
