How Does One Become This Way

When the only one standing between you and your dream,

Is yourself.

When no one doubts you,

But yourself.

When the only one who doesn’t think your dream will come true,

Is yourself.

How did you become this way?

The obstacles between you and your dream are many,

But they are mainly one.

Many: Money, unforeseen circumstances.

One: Confidence.

What’s your dream? They ask,

I answer “I can’t wait to be a doctor.”

Because I know once I am, that I’m worthy of it.

I’m tired of the monotony,

I want to be in a place where everything is new.

I’ve been many places, spoke with many people,

More have gone than stayed.

And yet not one have ever doubted my dream.

Not one when leaving have said,

“You will never be a doctor.”

Then why can’t I believe it too?
